@lorenzooo I assume when you say python pip modules they're installed with pip and not as python3-* packages using opkg? If that's the case, I agree with @crispyoz, the cloning firmware method is the best way to go here.

@Antony this section of the openwrt build system documentation offers a good pointer: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-developer/toolchain/use-buildsystem#custom_files "It is strongly recommended to use uci-defaults to incrementally integrate only the required customization. This helps minimize conflicts with auto-generated settings which can change between versions."

@Lazar-Demin I used a custom config created with menuconfig an there i activated only the omega2 pro for device and changed some packages. And then after building i see no bin file but compilation was successfull. So i tried the minimal config. And then i get all bin files except the pro. Maybe i changed something i shouldnt change ;-). But i think if im using the minimal config with the python script the config should be overwritten? Anyway whats the best way to reset the build config without setting up the whole build system again? Maybe that helps...

@Antony The key error is : ``/bin/sh: 1: svn: not found` SVN is the Subversion client, mpg-streamer must use this in its make file to pull source code from a Subversion repository. You'll need to install the Subversion client on the machine yu are executing the build. On ubuntu you would use the command: sudo apt install subversion

@Antony The Omega2 Pro does have a USB-A port. Maybe you have an Omega2+? In any case, using the bootloader isn't the only way to flash firmware images to the device. You can do it from Linux as well by copying/downloading the firmware image to the Omega's tmp storage. See this documentation article: http://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/manual-firmware-installation.html In your case, step 1 will be different as you are installing your own firmware, but the rest of the steps should be the same. You can check out this documentation article for ideas on how to transfer files over the local network to your Omega2: http://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/transferring-files.html Just make sure to move your firmware images to the /tmp directory
